Elmer’s Gold brings the work of our family’s worm farm to your garden. Add these worm castings to your soil or potting mix for organic matter and naturally occurring plant nutrients.

Choose your size

4 lb: Makes about 10 gallons of finished mix at the 1:9 ratio below.
16 lb: Makes about 39 gallons of finished mix at the 1:9 ratio below.

Finished volumes are estimates based on 4.10 lb per gallon. Moisture and settling affect volume; use the same scoop for both ingredients when mixing.

Sizes are net product weight, excluding packaging. Packed simply in a compostable bag inside a cardboard shipping box, with printed product information. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

How to use

Mixing: Start with 1 part castings to 9 parts soil or potting mix by volume. For example, combine 1 cup of castings with 9 cups of potting mix. Blend thoroughly before planting.

Established plants: Add a light top dressing around the plant, keep it away from the stem, and water it in.

Use alongside a suitable soil or potting mix rather than as a stand-alone growing medium.

Testing is part of how we grow

We use independent laboratory testing and microscope observations to understand our castings and guide our production. Testing has included nutrients, soil-health measurements, humic and hydrophobic fulvic acids, and microbial DNA.

Our available reports include testing from 2025 and 2026. Results describe the samples tested; natural batches vary. Read the reports and see our growing trial.
